Mipad Hotel is New Zealand’s first ‘Smart Hotel’ using an App as a sort of personal concierge. Strawberry Queenstown commissioned a Philips Dynalite system to take care of load control within each room and throughout the public areas of the hotel. A high-level interface also provides control of the Daikin HVAC system allowing guests to control the air conditioning via the lighting panels in their room.
A huge amount of coordination was required with both the client and Seveno who developed a customized App to allow users to interface with room lighting and heating via their personal smart phone.
As if we weren’t busy enough with this, a 3×3 video wall was also installed into the reception area and a QSC Q-Sys background music system provides scheduled music throughout the hotel and lobby.
