"Aotearoa" (NZ). The land of the long white cloud. Shrouded in mystery, pure, untouched, filled with emotion, awakening the soul, inspiring the spirit.
New Zealand as a country has an enviable reputation for punching well above its weight in the world of specialist products and the PLINIUS range of amplifiers and CD players are great examples of why New Zealand goods are so well sought after the world over.
Now celebrating our 30th anniversary we can confidently claim that PLINIUS has often set the bench mark in terms of subjective analysis of amplifier performance and it continues to do so. PLINIUS engineers are determined that their products should capture and reproduce via their efforts in research and development the unique features of recordings and thus allow us all to enjoy music in our own individual way.
Drawing on the past while also looking to the future PLINIUS has produced the Anniversary CD player and the Anniversary Integrated Amplifier. These limited edition models are based on the most popular amplifier in the range and a much altered CD player that still sends the distinct message from its display design that listening to music is simply, all about listening.
With it's constant focus on the idea that our product designs must be as beautifully produced as the music they play, the strikingly styled and constructed casework and the clever use of organic dyes in the anodising, result in subtle colour variations as the light reflects of the case from different angles. The striking images are softened by subtle shifts in light and colour, so often like the effect music has on us.
FROM 1980 THROUGH 2010 AND BEYOND

This amplifier has gathered together the power supply, preamp stage and amplifier stage in a manner that allows you to enjoy all types of musical entertainment and sacrifice very little from the effect of using seperate components for these functions.
The simple user interface of buttons to control the source and the large volume control knob continues our aim to provide a wonderful listening experience while making the process to start and run the system simple, delightfully clear and intuitive. The full function remote control also controls Plinius CD players.
We make no apoligies for the Hiato being a big heavy unit, there is a lot happening inside the box. The usual aluminium wrap and stylish wrap over lid, fit with other products in the Plinius range while lifting handles allow you to manoeuvre the unit into place on a rack quite easily.
The Hiato has a comprehensive rear panel layout that includeds 4 line level inputs and a user adjustable phono input. High quality WBT RCA connectors are used on all line level and phono inputs with additional balanced XLR inputs for CD and line 1. For home theatre system integration the Hiato feature the HT bypass input, remote IR inut and 12v input/output triggers. A small unobtrusive 3.5mm jack on the front panel allows a casual user to connect portable media without needing to access the rear panel.
The output connections of the Hiato consist of 4 pairs of output connectors allowing bi-wire speaker applications, line level output for archiving and pre-out for bi-amping.

A perfectly equipped and well balanced piece, the Hautonga further builds on the ground-breaking development of
preceding Plinius integrated amplifiers.
The rear panel is outfitted with five line level RCA inputs with Phono RCA and a balanced XLR pair additional as standard. Pre Out remains as does the Line Out connection for archiving or other ancillary equipment and the addition of trigger in and out connectors provide for multi-room or home theatre simplicity.
A new full function remote lets you scroll through inputs without disturbing your comfort, and importantly now includes access to the HT Bypass input. A new standby mode for true low power operation conserves energy while keeping the circuit active to deliver peak performance with minimal delay. Mute and volume controls are standard, as is the display brightness adjustment and the full complement of CD player functions.
Careful attention has been paid to signals and circuit layout with shorter signal paths, optimal component placement and a new wiring specification working in harmony to extract exciting new depth and detail from any musical recording.
Taking integrated refinement to a new level, the Hautonga is an amplifier determined to realise the peak of its potential.

The Plinius 8150 set the standard for higher powered Integrated Amplifiers some years ago and each iteration of that model has kept Plinius at the forefront of this very important amplifier genre.
Several aspects of previous Plinius integrated amplifiers have been continued in the 9200 including low noise, low distortion J FET input circutry and the very best of discrete componentry.
The 9200 will allow the connection of up to 4 source components plus Phono and has both balanced and single ended connection for digital inputs while a processor loop allows full integration with a home theatre system.
The phono section has been highly praised and allows connection of both moving coil and moving magnet cartridges. An easily accessible gain change will give optimium results for both types of cartridge.
The large toroidal transformer will drive the 9200 to power levels in excess of 200 watts per channel into 8ohms. The power supply has been given priority with an extremely low impedance stiff design being implemented. Difficult speaker loads are driven with ease to the most satisifying levels of volume while amintaining control and finesse.
